Dear Prof. Smith,

On behalf of the Student Union, I am writing this e-mail to invite you to be one of the judges for our English speech contest which is jointly sponsored by Department of Foreign Languages and the Student Union.

The contest will be held in the Grand Auditorium on January 18th, 2015 (next Friday). You are invited to work together with other four Chinese professors as a panel in charge of the judgment of the contest. As a member of the group, you are supposed to grade each of the contestants, and give marks based on their performance. You are also expected to offer your comment or advice on their English speech delivery if necessary.

It would be a great honor for us if you could accept this invitation. We are looking forward to your early reply.
