Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted cultural confidence during a visit to a park dedicated to Zhu Xi on March 22. "Without the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization, how could we find something with Chinese characteristics? And without Chinese characteristics, how could we find the path that has led us to today's success?" Xi said when he visited the park in the city of Wuyishan, east China's Fujian province.
